Premium Immigration Route
Global Talent Visa UK
The Global Talent visa is the UK's most prestigious immigration route, designed for internationally recognised leaders and promising talent in digital technology, arts, culture, science, engineering, humanities and social science research.
What is the Global Talent Visa?
The Global Talent visa replaced the Tier 1 (Exceptional Talent) visa and provides a flexible, unsponsored immigration route for individuals who have been endorsed as a leader or emerging leader in their field. Unlike most UK work routes, there is no requirement to have a job offer from a specific employer — you are free to work for any UK employer, be self-employed, or establish your own business.
To apply for the Global Talent visa, you must first obtain an endorsement from a designated endorsing body relevant to your sector. Each endorsing body has its own criteria and process. Obtaining the right endorsement is the most critical and often the most complex aspect of the application.
Endorsing Bodies by Sector
The Global Talent visa covers several distinct sectors, each with its own designated endorsing body:
- ★Digital TechnologyTech Nation (now UKRI) — for software engineers, product managers, data scientists, AI specialists, cybersecurity experts and founders of tech companies
- ★Science & ResearchUKRI (UK Research and Innovation) — for researchers, academics, engineers and scientists working in STEM fields
- ★Arts & CultureArts Council England — for visual artists, musicians, film-makers, writers, designers and performing artists
- ★Humanities & Social ScienceBritish Academy — for researchers and scholars in humanities, social sciences, and related disciplines
- ★Medicine & HealthcareRoyal Society, Royal Academy of Engineering, Royal Society of Edinburgh — for medical researchers, clinicians and healthcare innovators
Exceptional Talent vs Exceptional Promise
Within each endorsing body's criteria, there are typically two categories:
Exceptional Talent is for established leaders who have already demonstrated significant impact and recognition in their field. This category typically requires substantial evidence of peer recognition, awards, publications, or major contributions.
Exceptional Promise is for emerging talent — individuals who show strong potential to become leaders in their field. This is the appropriate category for those earlier in their career who can demonstrate they are on a trajectory to reach the top of their profession.
The category selected affects the settlement route: Exceptional Talent holders can apply for ILR after 3 years, while Exceptional Promise holders must wait 5 years.
Why the Endorsement Application is Critical
The endorsing body makes its decision based entirely on the evidence you submit. A poorly presented application — even by a highly qualified individual — can result in a refusal. We help you understand exactly what evidence each endorsing body looks for, how to present your achievements persuasively, and how to structure your supporting statements and letters of recommendation.
No Job Offer Needed
Work for any employer, be self-employed, or start your own venture — complete flexibility

Exceptional Talent holders can apply for indefinite leave to remain after just 3 years
Family Included

Yes — most visa holders can switch to the Global Talent visa from within the UK without needing to return to their home country. This includes Skilled Worker, Student, and various other visa holders.
Endorsement refusals can be reviewed through an endorsing body's own review process. We can advise on the grounds for refusal, assist with a review request, or help you consider whether to reapply with strengthened evidence.
The Global Talent visa has no minimum salary requirement — unlike the Skilled Worker visa. However, you do need to demonstrate sufficient funds to support yourself and any dependants in the UK.
